Landini ‘back to basics’ tractor makes its debut at the Royal Welsh Show.
A basic-spec tractor that offers plenty of performance in a low price package made its debut at the Royal Welsh Show.
The Landini 4-075D is available in two- and four-wheel drive forms, has a simple transmission operated by floor mounted gear levers and lacks any plastic cladding save for the steering column surround and instrument panel.
Rubber mats cover the footwells, bare metal surrounds the plastic upholstered seat and there are few electrics.
“That means the open operator’s platform can be washed down easily, which makes the machine ideal for people who like to look after their scraper tractor,” says Ray Spinks, general manager and sales director at distributor AgriArgo UK.
It’s a relatively small but substantial tractor, he adds, capable of handling a range of field and yard duties for operators who want to avoid complexity and the added bulk of a cab.
The 4.4-litre four-cylinder Perkins naturally-aspirated engine develops 74hp and its lack of emissions control add-ons helps keep the tractor’s price at an attractive level – around £19,950 on-farm with four-wheel drive and radial tyres all round.
A 2.1m wheelbase ensures good stability, while the wheels and axles can be configured to get the tractor down to no more than 1.67m wide for easy access to passages in cubicle sheds and other buildings.
The Landini 4-075D has a choice of 12×12 and 16×16 creep gearboxes operated by a forward-reverse synchro gear lever to the left of the driver and a four-speed gear lever to the right, where a short three-range lever is also located.
Mechanical controls operate the rear three-point linkage with 2700kg or 3400kg lift capacity and ground drive pto is standard regardless of whether the tractor is equipped with single- or two-speed power take-off providing 540/1000rpm or 540/540E gearing.
